Time eating clock

So a weekend or two ago I made a stopover at the Science museum in London, great place to go if you feel like being a 12 year old again…SO much to play with!

Anyways, one of the most fascinating things, besides the hearing music through my skull by biting a metal pole machine, happened to be this “Time eating clock”, designed by inventor John Taylor:

This particular clock is called “The Midsummer Chronophage” and happens to be one of two clocks in the world to show the experience of relative time. John Taylor’s inspiration came from the idea that everyone experiences time differently. Personally, I could’ve spent an entire day staring at that thing.

I kinda loved this quote from him, which said:

‘Inventing is hard work. The ideas are easy but turning them into a practical embodiment is the difficulty.’ Dr John Taylor
