So a little run in with STA travel??inspired me to write a little post about some of the awesome places I’ve seen, things I’ve done and things I??definitely will do, when it comes to the beautiful country that is South Africa.
I hope that you find these places and make the most of what we as South Africans have to offer and often overlook. Balls to the walls and full of awesomeness, never forget that this is what life should be all about…
Sycamore Avenue Treehouse
A place in the Midlands Meander on the way to Durban, where we stayed in a 3 bedroom treehouse with an outside spa
Whether it’s the 50 story ABSA building in Pretoria CBD or the Soweto towers, the guys from Pure Rush are always up for awesomeness
Beautiful beaches, and this really awesome footpath that leads to a couple of secluded beaches on the other side (no idea how to get there)
Tiffendell Ski Resort
Situated in Drakensburg mountains, there’s plenty to do beside skiing…such as…the infamous “Polar Bear Run”, be prepared to get naked.
Rhino & Lion park
Lion cubs, tiger cubs, caves, live feedings, vulture shows and so much more…??15 gets you an entire day of awesomeness!
Legends Golf & Safari Resort
Where golfers need to use a helicopter to play the highest Par 3 on the planet…as if Plettenburg bay wasn’t awesome enough.
I couldn’t suggest a better way to experience African culture…in style. More than just food, you get pulled into a new world completely.
Sun City Zip Line
Experience the highest & fastest zip line in the world…for about ??40…gotta love that exchange rate 😉
Monte Casino balloon ride & bird park
Killing two birds with one stone, though they frown upon that sort of behaviour. Monte is situated in Fourways, Johannesburg and it’s a really quick and easy way to have a little fun.
PheZulu safari & reptile park
A Really scenic views, crocodiles, leapord turtles and safari…really awesome
10min outside of Johannesburg, this was the greatest gem I found while staying there. Yes…that’s me wrestling a basketball from a tiger…and the video is a puma cub pouncing on my face…best day ever!
The most??unforgettable??experience of my life was driving along the road to this place. Lined with orange leaved oak trees, the service and food they welcomed us with was incredible. Indigo Fields is not a spa, it’s exactly what I picture seeing when I die…kinda like Russel Crowe walking through the fields in Gladiator. They drive you to a cabin in the bush with a Land Rover and spoil you with hot stone massages and wine. After that, it’s hottub and champagne, after the salt scrub and??sauna??of course.
This was my best kept South African??secret.
